1- PREVENTIVE SERVICES CASE PLANNER

Salary: $28,000

Classification: Full-Time - Grant Related  

Summary:  

This is a professional level position that requires significant knowledge of case management experience in working with at risk families. It is important that this person have good listening and communication skills, and the ability to collect and convey the collected data verbally and in writing. Provide non-clinical counseling and advocacy services to clients and their families, including services such as: crisis intervention, translation and interpretation, court escort & assistance, transportation, linkages and referrals to agency in-house and community resources and service providers. He/she is responsible for maintaining and sharing with ECDSS worker a file on each client served in the Mandated Preventive Services Program. This position requires good communication and written skills in both Spanish and English.

Requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree from and accredited institution in vocational rehabilitation, education, social work, human resources, public policy, social sciences, or related field is preferred and at least two (2) of paid experience in Human Services one (1) of which must have been in case management/working with at risk families
  • Must be bilingual and bicultural and fluent in Spanish and English (orally and written). Must be able to facilitate a good working relationship with program customers and the Hispanic community and be knowledgeable of and sensitive to the special needs population.
  • Must have knowledge in the use of computer and word processing software
  • Knowledgeable of the Internet
  • Prior experience working with culturally diverse customers and staff
  • Have own transportation vehicle
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License
  • Current insurance on vehicle
  • Must subject to a drug screen, driving record and criminal background check. 

 

2- EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST/JOB TRAINER

Salary: $25,000

Classification: Full-Time - Grant Related

 Summary:

The candidate will assist clients enrolled in several programs with finding employment and achieving self-sufficiency. This individual will also provide placement and retention employment services, individual and group JRT training, refer clients to appropriate training opportunities, provide career counseling support, perform job development and job coaching duties, work closely with HIP and transitional case managers, place clients in jobs paying a self-sufficient wage, identify potential employers with a focus of developing employment opportunities for program participants, and other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field or an Associate’s degree with related work experience preferred.
  • Experience working with this specific population, understanding of cultural issues 
  • The successful candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and possess the ability to work with culturally diverse clientele and staff. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have knowledge in the use of computer and word processing software
  • Knowledgeable of the Internet
